I read a very interesting tale this week. The title is "Real American Ice Cream". It is different title between Japan and the U.S. "Yomogi-Ice" is the title in Japan.
This story is about difference of life in Japan and America when the author was in the U.S. The author Hiiragi Nonaka lived in N.Y for 4 years after she graduated Rikkyo University and she wrote some stories based on her own experiences. She wrote the story enjoyable and sometime piquant. She is very famous for young women in Japand and around Asia.
I have been to some foreign countries before but I did just sightseeing. Of course I couldn't do "real communication" with native people. When I was high school student I stayed Melbourne for 5 months and I had many many good experiences with host family and classmates but I had also some problems. I tried to solve the problem but I couldn't...because I am a Japanese...
If I study English much harder to communicate better than now, there are unaccountable problems between two people.

Hi Marmie,
Thanks for pointing out your new blog. I hope that you'll keep posting as frequently as you have recently, or more so, because you have a couple weeks of catching up to do already. Two book reviews in one week is a fair start. At this rate your blog should be in good shape by mid-semester.
For book review numbers this (2nd) semester, please use BR 2-01, BR 2-02, BR 2-03 ..., followed by colons and short(-ened) titles of the books you're reading, for example:
BR 2-02: Real ... Ice Cream
ALL posts this semester need to include word counts. They will be easy to spot in square brackets at the lower left corner of every post. Please see (almost?) any Writing Studio Blog post for an example.
Finally, I'm not sure I understand the conclusion of this book review. It sounds almost as if you believe that Japanese identity is a barrier to solving communication problems, and no matter how much better you communicate in English than you do now, you will always have many problems. Is that what you mean?
Thank you very much for your good advices on my book review. Your comment must makes my blog and book review better. Thank you very much. I will do my best!
